Have You Seen Me?

'Cause I was lost this morning. Yep, seasoned mom of 5 was lost without her babies this morning...I kept it together, but I could tell that any little thing would set me off...Sniff...

Kids got up quickly and easily this morning. Smiles on their faces and ready to head to school. We were out the door in less than an hour, hope it continues that easily!

We get to school, we go in the wrong door. Nice way to start out. But it's all good. I got a couple pictures of them in front of their class. Not the ones I was hoping for, but at least I got some pics! The boys were like, Bye Mom! Too excited to care that I was leaving them. Ryley on the other hand was trying to stay strong. She had that sad look in her eyes and her chin was quivering. I made a quick exit and left.

Now what? Where do I go? What do I do? This is gonna be a long 3 hours...I'll get used to it, 2x a week, I'm sure. The other 3 days I'll have babysitting kids to keep me busy.

So I hit up Starbuck's and head on over to Kohls to return some bedding that was quite a disappointment. Then I wandered. Found more bedding to replace the return and am VERY happy with that. Got some sconces to hang on the wall to go with our room redo. Then I head home. I still have time to kill before it's time to go back to get the 3. So I figure I'll head over early and just sit in the parking lot. I'm pathetic, I know...

I get there and see the other parents lined up at the door, I'm still about 20 minutes early, so I'm not late, that's for sure. I get to the door and see my angel boys sitting on the steps waiting for their ride. Dylan sees me through the door and I could have just burst in to tears of joy at how happy he was to see me and how big his smile was. Ayden saw me then too and he gave me the same exact huge smile!! I couldn't wait to grab them and hug them both. They come running out the doors and I get the best, most wonderful double hug any mom could receive!!!!! It was glorious! I missed them. I really missed them! Ryley's class wasn't done yet, so we chatted and waited for Miss. Roo to come out.

I positioned myself to be first at the door and she happened to be the first in line and she saw me as she was coming up the stairs. She was fighting back the tears through her big smile. I'm not sure I've gotten a bigger/better hug from that girl since 3 hours earlier when she didn't want to let me go. But she did it. She made it through her first day. Her teacher said that she cried for a short time, but then did fine. She made a new friend, she was happy about that. Ryley says she's not sure if she'll go back tomorrow. I'm sure she will be fine after this first week. She said she saw her brothers during the class, so I think that helped her not feel so alone. The boys did fabulous. No worries from them. No tears and no accidents with peeing!! Wahoo!!!

We hit the McDonald's right across the street for lunch. We went in, normally we drive through and take it home, so this was a big treat for them. We get our food, find an out of the way spot to sit. They have to eat in order to get to play on the playground (yuck, btw). So they eat. An old lady walks past us to the bathroom. Comes back by. Comes over to the table as we're eating and chatting. Asks me if they are all mine. I say yes. She says all the same age. I say yes. She asks their age. I tell her. She says triplets?? I say yes. She says wow. what god bless you. I say my usual response to that, Yes he did 5 times! She laughs. She says they are so well behaved. I say thank you. She babbles something else. Says I'm a strong woman to do this. I'm nodding, like okay, you can leave now. She goes on some more about how great of a woman I must be to do triplets, blah, blah. Whatever. She finally wanders away. Luckily the boys didn't start talking her ear off. They are known to just start talking and talking to anyone that will speak to them. This time they were too busy eating. So they eat and then go to the playground after hitting the potty. A few minutes in to playing - Dylan poops his pants. Fabulous. So we go home after hitting the Starbuck's again and renting the new Little Mermaid movie for rest time. If you get a chance, rent it or buy it - it's a cute movie - Little Mermaid - Ariel's Beginnings.

So long-winded short - they had a great day and I was a mess.

I love the details in your blog about their first day of school. Wandering around aimlessly and then waiting in the parking lot. I got a chuckle. It also brought tears to my eyes reading of the happy reunion at the end of their first day. Such sweet moments, huh? Gorgeous kids you have there and they are getting so big!!!
