Play Ball!

I have just so much to talk about and no time to talk about it. I'll get to it all, I hope...we've just been so busy and with me trying to find a job, it's just crazy!

Today was Louisville's second baseball game, but it was Tyler's first appearance on the mound today. The day started out very rainy, which is typical for the days that Tyler is scheduled to pitch. It's either rainy, very cold or snowing when he's up. No idea why, but that's our history! Anyways, by lunch, it was a gorgeous day. So I was optimistic that nature is on his side today! Windy today, but sunny and dry!

He had a terrific game!!! Unfortunately he gets a no decision, since the last out went to another kid, so that kid gets the win next to his name. Nice. Louisville 7 - Barberton 6.

Tyler had 121 pitches in 6 2/3 innings, 81 strikes, 6 runs - 4 earned, 6 hits, 4 walks, 9 strikeouts and picked off 2. So a fantastic game by him. He looked great! Jon got good video of him and once it's up, I'll share the link for anyone interested in seeing him in action. We'll be sending that off to colleges. He's still deciding, but he's narrowing it down to 2-3 schools. Someday soon!

The little ones did great at the game. Every season they do better and better, obviously. Roo ate 3 1/2 hot dogs, most of the mandarin oranges and STILL said she was hungry. They hung out with John Cook's grandma, grandpa and aunt. They swear the weren't bothered by them! lol

We went to Beatty's, the local t-shirt shop and got out newest Louisville shirts, these should last them a couple of years. I had John's number, #14, on one sleeve and Tyler's number, #16, put on the other sleeve. They freaked because there was no number on their back. I promised them that as soon as we get their baseball number for this year, we'd go back and have that placed on the back. Geesh...it took a lot of reasoning with Ayden to get him to let it go. These kids and their number obsession...

I have just so much to talk about and no time to talk about it. I'll get to it all, I hope...we've just been so busy and with me trying to find a job, it's just crazy!

Today is also a bit sad, as it's the one year anniversary of the loss of a classmate of Steph's and Tyler's, Stephen Ellenberger. There was a candlelight get together at the football stadium tonight and a bunch of kids ate at Steak and Shake for dinner, as that was a favorite place of his. It's also the one year anniversary of the bus driver that lost his life that day as well. Such a sad and preventable story...We lost 2 boys and a bus driver in 2 years, both due to speed. I wish I could say that it hit home with our kids in this town, but I still see kids driving like they aren't going to die...I wish they would realize it's not worth it, before they become another sad story...Ethan Appel will be gone for 2 years this May...
