No Title - just miscellaneous information

I great weekend. I was able to get a break away for a night. We had the State Twins Club executive board meeting and this time it was in Columbus. We stayed at the Embassy Suites down there. Nice hotel. I'll be dropping them a friendly little letter about their housekeeping staff, especially the ones that decided at 4 a.m. to start dumping trash and chatting it up and whatever else they could think to do LOUDLY in an main area, for hours! I went out in the hall to see what the heck was going on, it literally sounded like construction! So I didn't sleep. But oh well. I developed a neck ache and then headache halfway through the evening and that just sucked! Put a damper on my fun, that's for sure! Then by the time we made it to bed, to get an hour of sleep and woke to that! Nice.

After the board meeting, we went to a local outdoor shopping area, in Westerville, I think it was called Eastern. It was very nice! Higher-end compared to what I'm used to, but it was a nice little area to walk around and watch the people, there is no recession as far as they're concerned!! lol I got to go to Trader Joe's and that was great! We also went in to this fun little store called The Container Store - that would be my weakness if there was one a lot closer! lol

We were standing outside of a store deciding where to go next, this little girl came up to us and just walked in to the middle of our circle. I thought that was kind of odd, then she stood right to the edge of us and had her fingers to her mouth, I asked her if she was lost, she looked so scared. She was about 10, I think. She nodded she was, then started to walk away. I got her to tell me her mom's cell phone number and we called her. That was so awesome that she knew to go to a group of mom's and that she knew her mother's cell phone number. I had been telling mine that if they were ever lost from me to find a mom and tell her they were lost. So this was proof that worked! There were sooo many people on the sidewalks, that it would have been impossible to know where to start looking for her mother. One of our MoMs went to look in the Children's Place store that we were standing beside and luckily found her as I had just finished leaving the girl's mom a voicemail. It was just the way it should have turned out.

Today, I refreshed the little ones on who to find for help if they ever were to be separated from us, they remembered, thank goodness. I added to that, not just a mom, but any female. We were without our children, so she would have had no way to know which of us was a mom. I also wrote my cell phone number on strips of paper and gave each one to look at and learn while we were driving home. There really is no point to teaching them our home phone number, since I will be out with them if they ever did get lost, so the cell phone makes the most sense.

The little ones had their first soccer game on Saturday, I missed it. But I heard that they had a great time! I can't wait to see them next week. They have their little games every Saturday for 6 weeks. Ryley seems to be more in to it, than the boys, so we'll see how it progresses for the boys. Oh and did I mention that I was sucked in to coaching this?? Luckily one of the other mom's is also coaching and she has more experience than me, so she can have at it! lol

The little ones also have their first coach-pitch baseball practice on Tuesday. So we've added another level of business to our life. We decided to play them up instead of doing another year of the chaos of last year. So I guess that also includes practices now. Their first game won't be until the end of May. Oh and did I mention that I was sucked in to coaching this?? Yes, I am coaching both teams. But I am counting on my rocking twin MoM that has her 3 on our team to be my right-hand gal!! Got that Gina?!?! lol But it'll be fun. I'm more comfortable doing the baseball than the soccer, even though I've played soccer and softball, I've been around the baseball life for longer! So it'll be fun and busy and fun!

Oh and did I mention that I FINALLY GOT A JOB!?!?!?!?! Yep, I finally landed one. I actually got one last week, went through the orientation and ready to start, but just didn't feel it was the right fit for me. So I had a phone interview on Friday and was able to get this other transcription job and feel much more comfortable with it. So I'm so excited to finally get back in to it and get started! I will be working a split shift, morning and then at night. That will work the best for our family and still afford me the luxury of being available for the children pretty much all of their waking hours. So it'll be the best of both worlds for me and I won't have to pay a babysitter or mother's helper to get the work done! YaY Me!!

I think that's about it since the last post. Thanks for stopping by and reading!

Wow, you've been busy! Congrats again on the job :)

That is very scary about the lost girl. I guess I never thought about teaching the kids that (probably because I'm a hawk) but it couldn't hurt, right?
