Our Thanksgiving

I hope you and yours had a very nice day. Did you go out for Black Friday? I did not. Thought about it. But I'm done with my holiday shopping and so there was no need, except to see what all the craziness is really like! Yes, I've never gone out the morning after Thanksgiving. I've always shopped online. Next year I may go just for the sake of curiosity.

Tyler and a buddy went to Walmart last night about 8p.m to camp out to get that 50" Samsung flat screen for his buddy and Tyler wanted the xbox with the guitar hero. We thought they were going to be sleeping outside and I was not thrilled with that idea at all. He got there and called to say they were open and the electronics guy said they could stay all night, camp out in front of the PS game set up and play games all night, eat food they paid for first, etc. So they had a party all night in Walmart.

They were the first ones to get their stuff and get out of the store. So he still made it to work at the mall by 7. He was exhausted by the time he got home at 1 and he'll probably sleep all night long! lol

We spent the day at Jon's parents house. I normally cook our Thanksgiving dinner here, regardless of where we eat, that way we have all the leftovers we want. This was the first year in 17 years that I didn't cook it. I just didn't feel up to it yesterday. I even, gasp, bought a frozen pumpkin pie to take over there. I was DEFINITELY not in to the day yesterday. But it was a nice day.

Today was a different story. I made our dinner today and Stephanie helped make most of it. I was happy to spend the time in the kitchen with her. She was eager to learn and really wanted to help. Everything tasted so good and came out perfectly!

I am so thankful for my family and my friends. My family means the world to me and I am so blessed to have 5 wonderful, beautiful and caring children. I don't know what I did to deserve these 5 miracles, but I am thankful everyday for them. I am so thankful for a wonderful husband and father to my children. I couldn't make it through this crazy life without him. My extended family is small, but mighty and couldn't picture life without them! My friends are such great sources of support, in real life and in internet world. Some of I have met in real life and others I will soon and the rest I hope to meet one day. I feel blessed to know each of them.

I hope you are as blessed as I am.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sounds like a great day! I was Thankful to NOT have to make a huge holiday meal- we already did that earlier in the month before great gpa left for florida.

I was also relieved that I didn't have to make a meal. We went to two houses on the same day, so there was really no point in cooking anything. We were told not to bring a dish, either, and we were the only guests at both houses! I felt like royalty! LOL

Happy Belated Turkey Day!

I also didn't have it in me to cook on T-day! But I did cook on Sat for my grandmother. And had the girls in the kitchen helping with the stuffing and potatoes. But I didn't think about snapping pics. LOL!
